Use of waste heat to generate electrical energy from biogas plant in the Czech Republic
Biogas station uses pig slurry, maize silage and beet pulp to produce electrical energy, which is exclusively supplied to the ČEZ distribution network. Additional energy is generated using organic fluid in the Organic Rankine Cycle, which was installed in 2008. With power of 100 kW it generates 740 MWh each year. That leads to an increased effectiveness of the biogas plant. The plant is run by only two employees and saves CO2 emissions compared to usage of fossil fuels.
